Buy property in Var
The coast of the Var is the stuff of dreams. With its red rocks, sandy beaches, little creeks, heavenly islands such as Porquerolles and photogenic fishing villages such as Sanary-sur-Mer and the better-known Saint-Tropez, it is a well-loved holiday destination. You will find yourself with one foot in the sea, and with the other in Provence with its vineyards and tranquillity, and you don't have to do a split in the process. The Var is also known for its chasm Gorges du Verdon, which the French like to call the Grand Canyon du Verdon. Exaggerated? The American canyon is of course much larger, but in some places the deepest canyon in Europe seems equally impressive. The capital city of the province is Toulon. Other big cities include La Seyne-sur-Mer, Hyères, Fréjus and Draguignan.
